Content Management System
Content Management System Screens
The Content Management System (CMS) consists of several pages:
- Control Panel
- CMS Browse and Edit
- Media Server
CMS - Browse
This screen is your main view into the items on the Audio Guide. It lets you browse the system gallery by gallery. Root is the staring point for the system. The picture above shows Browse viewing the Root Gallery. It allows you to view the organization of the system, edit Galleries, edit individual items (audio clips, pictures, text boxes), and create new items.
Clicking on a gallery opens it up to take over the whole page. The main screen is just another gallery, called Root, which is fully configurable.
Remove this item from the current Gallery. This does NOT delete the item. If it is a member of other Galleries, it will still remain in them. If it is not a member of any other Gallery, you will still be able to find it in the Orphan Gallery, accessible by selecting (Orphan) next to Root in the navigation area near the top of the Browse window.
Browse for Media
This is a popup box you will see when you click on Browse next to Picture or Media. It is context aware, so you will see a list of either pictures or audio clips, depending on which Browse button is selected.
The top of the dialog shows all of the Folders on the Media Server, which helps sort the media. Select the folder you wish to browse.
Uploading new media
By clicking the Add Media button in the lower left, you can upload media from your computer to the Media Server. Once uploaded, it will show in the browse list so you can select it.
NOTE: The media will be uploaded into the folder you have selected at the time of upload, so be sure to select your folder first.
This screen is used to manage the media (audio clips and images) for the system. This interacts directly with the Media Server, which is located at EMP. Features include preview, upload, rename, delete, sort by folder.
